The Bill of Rights: What Is Freedom of Religion?
Overview
Students may have heard of the First Amendment. They also may know that 1 part of this amendment focuses on freedom of speech or the right to assemble. But they might not know that the amendment also protects freedom of religion. In this activity, students will learn about different religions and why freedom to practice one’s religion in the United States is an important right. Students will develop some key skills, such as decision-making, collaboration, and advocacy.
