What is This Advertisement Saying? (Grades 9-12)
Overview
When viewing advertisements online, students should be able to determine the claims that are stated in the ads, and then construct their opinions of the claims. In this activity, students view examples of typical social media advertisements. They choose 2 or 3 ads from the provided web page and restate the claim, if any, made in each ad. Students then state whether they find the ads believable and effective, and explain why.
