\"Inventions\" is a game that fosters creativity, problem-solving, and presentation skills. It can be a great exercise for stimulating innovation and teamwork. Enjoy leading \"Inventions\"!
Introduction to Inventions
- Gather Players: Welcome the group to an indoor space with tables and introduce the game as \"Inventions.\"
- Explain the Objective: Players will creatively think of an invention to solve a humorous or serious problem.
Game Setup
- Seating Arrangement: Have all players sit at tables.
- Distribute Materials: Give each player a half sheet of paper and a marker.
- Select Sentence Starters: Instruct players to select one of the given sentence starters and write it on their paper.
- Complete the Sentence: Players will finish the sentence with a problem that can be real, imaginary, or bizarre.
- Collect and Shuffle: Players put their completed sentences face down on the leader’s table. The leader collects and shuffles the papers.
- Form Groups: Players get into groups of 2 or 3.
- Distribute Problems: The leader gives a random problem to each group.
- Select a Problem: Within each group, members read their problems aloud and select their favorite one to address.
How to Play
- Provide Poster Paper: Hand out poster paper to each group.
- Invention Creation: Groups have five minutes to create a pretend invention that solves the selected problem.
- Name, Slogan and Drawing: On the poster, groups come up with the name of their invention, a slogan, and draw a picture representing it.
- Present Inventions: After creation time, each group presents their invention poster to everyone.
- Vote on Inventions: Groups vote on their favorite invention from the presentations.
- No Self-Voting: Groups cannot vote for their own invention.
Conducting the Game
- Initiate Creation Phase: Start the invention creation phase with a clear signal.
- Facilitate Group Work: Encourage discussion and collaboration as groups work on their inventions.
Ending the Game
- Countdown to Presentation: Give a countdown to the end of the creation phase.
- Tally Votes: After presentations, collect and count votes to determine the winning group.

- Acknowledge Creativity: Recognize all participants for their innovative ideas and teamwork.
